This
essay critically evaluates post-
heroic leadership in the light of the leadership
theories. It does this by first demonstrating how complicated and contested the term "leadership" is. It then gives a brief summary of Huey's understanding of what post-heroic leadership is. The essay critically evaluates post-heroic leadership (as Huey sees it) through the perspective of the Trait theories of leadership, the behavioral theories of leadership (through a close look at the Michigan studies), the
contingency theories, and the more modern Transactional and Transformational leadership models.
