labor unions in America, from the end of World War Two. The paper discusses a number of important
events and issues relating to the labor
movement and labor unions including the "Taft-Hactley
act", "Operation Dixie", the steel industry crisis and the "Landrum-Griffin Act of 1959". After describing these events and their history, the paper takes a look at current trends in the labor movement and offers a general conclusion on the importance of the labor unions in the U.S.
