This paper presents a discussion of the evolution of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), which has existed in concept since
the 1960s and has since evolved into a leading method of integrating business systems and improving production. It shows how, although ERP
implementation is expensive, time consuming, and problematic, successful ERP implementation has many benefits for business owners. It also discusses how it can help businesses improve their supply chain management and increase the velocity of business, ultimately improving efficiency and
productivity.
