This paper
looks at how
poverty has affected El Salvador and examines the different ways that the
government is trying to improve the
country's international standing. An in-depth overview of the country's economic history is given in order to give the reader a good understanding of the factors that have contributed to the current crisis. Some of the issues discussed include confronting the challenges presented by the
debt the country has become burdened with over the past decade and
financial sector reform and resource mobilization. The author also looks at how the government of El Salvador, with the help of many in the
world community, has attempted to address many of the systemic issues that the country faces.
