This
paper discusses the different theories put forward in Shapiro's 1999 article about "
Quality and Equality." Some of the topics discussed in this paper include how
companies have failed to move
women into positions of
management from middle-management and gives details of a study done of the subject. This study was
conducted by the Center for
Research in Innovation Management at Brighton University and includes research conducted at 14 different companies, that included interviews with all levels of employees. The study illustrates the limitations of the current research approaches and suggestions some ways to improve upon the methods currently in use.
