This paper takes a look at a
proposal to store
nuclear waste in Yucca Mountain in Nevada. It examines the supposed advantages of such a proposal as well as its disadvantages and points out that, while the residents of Nevada may benefit economically from an arrangement with the federal government to bury nuclear waste in their state, the benefits would be negligible, especially in comparison to the potential health risks that such a proposal poses.
