AIM: To discuss the distributing role of
evaluating-diversity of five-rating qualifiers and to assess its use in the evaluation
for psychological measurement error.METHODS: One hundred and sixty-five soldiers were requested to designate values for two groups of five-rating qualifiers, most of whom were senior or junior high school graduates. The distributing characteristics of the
evaluating-diversity were analyzed. The difference of the evaluating-diversity of each qualifier in each of the two groups and the difference between the senior or junior high school graduates were assessed.RESULTS: The evaluating-
diversities between the two groups assumed positive skew distribution. There was no significant difference between the two groups. The evaluating-diversities between the words in each group had significant difference. There was no significant difference between those designated by senior school group and junior school group.CONCLUSION: The evaluating-diversities of qualifiers assume positive skew distribution. The evaluating-diversities between qualifiers have certain consistency. There is significant difference between evaluating-diversity intervals in words.Educational level has no obvious effects on evaluating-diversity interval.
