Christianity and Marriage

Article Summary by: RJMurdough

Original Author: Ryan Murdough
In today's society, many factors have contributed to the decline of our morals and standards. Morals and standards originate
from the Bible. Many people think that Christians try to be perfect while pushing their religion on to other people. Christians are not perfect, and have the same faults and weaknesses as everybody else does. The difference is that Christians believe that God sent Jesus to Earth to pay for those faults, weaknesses and sins. Because Christians believe this, life is not hopeless to them. I believe if there is anything that I would like to be perfect at, it is my own life. By that I mean I would like to improve on it as much as I can. Most Christians try to do just that. We are only here for a short time, so why not give it our best shot? Unfortunately, a lot of people just glide through life all the while never coming really to understand it. They make sure they know which celebrities are dating and when their TV shows are on. They have the attitude "if it feels good, do it," never understanding that an attitude like that is the quickest way to self-destruction. Marriage is the most sacred of all institutions. Once that is gone, the world will not exist. Trust me, I also realize that we, Christians and non-Christians, are not even close to perfecting marriage. Marriage between a man and a woman, though, will always be what is better for children. Nothing is better than having a mother and father love and raise children.

I find that this essay is short on expressing the true love of Christ and hot on references to a failed existence if one does not ahere. Christianity is more of a love of God and a sharing of what we know to be truth to others.
