moderators)
Personal egos of certain persons do much harm to any healthy
discussion. One of the reasons is few guys are dominated by certain prejudices. Ironically, they have nothing to offer but want dominance everywhere. It seems funny, in this age when new media has broken many barriers!
When all irrespective of gender, race and age can participate in any free discussion. Here you come across, few stagnated and arrogant persons who want nothing but leadership in any form.
Thanks to new media, we can openly discuss social taboos like impact of broken society, biased beliefs, religious bigotry, sex crimes and issues related to ground realities.
Behavioral therapists term it asa personality disorder. We all know, we are in global age and many problems that afflict us need discussion. No doubt,
moderators have to play a role but many times due to inexperience and paucity of time, they keep on ignoring their responsibility.
All understand that No chat room, discussion is without counter views. However, new media has its own limitation. How can one oppose some who tries to provoke you and then try to sanctity his hard-line approach? What if that person claims to be leader of any community?
This is the main reason why do not we have new voices. Whenever, we give freedom to others. It brings fresh ideads. Media sociologists accept this fact that discussion boards are not academic conferences. They also stress that these are free and healthy channel of communication.
Those who claim that one must obey certain norms must understand that netiquette must be taught to new members and that is the main function of moderators.
Many successful discussion boards stick to these rules. They are seen as friend, philosopher and guide by others.
Lets remember that t after every thesis there is an antithesis and that results in synthesis.
Friends, readers and others keep on writing and presenting your views in a better manner. Let us use our free will in better maner. We also hope moderators will always act as friend, philosopher and guide and so-called moral police will give way to your new thoughts.
