This paper
examines the theme of paralysis in "Dubliners", a
collection of short stories by James Joyce. It begins with a
description of the religious, economic, cultural, and political oppression in Dublin. It then specifically expands on several of the stories in the
collection: "The Sisters," "Araby," "Eveline," "Two Gallants," and "The Dead." Finally, the paper examines Joyce's
writing style.
