This paper analyzes the novel, "Things Fall Apart", by Chinua Achebe. It shows how the novel offers an inside view of a post-
colonial
society and of how the
colonial era continues to affect that society at every level. It looks at how Achebe creates a parallel between the personal tragedy of his village and the way
colonialism destroys native African cultures. The paper concludes by proposing that the heart of this story describes Nigeria's colonial experience.
