paper traces the life of famous writer, George Orwell, from his birth in India while his parents were on official
government duty, his Eton education and his self-imposed poverty which finally led to him resigning from his government job and
writing full time. The paper examines several of Orwell's works, including "Down and Out in Paris and London" (1933) and "The Road to Wigah Pier" (1937), but focuses specifically on Orwell's greatest piece, the political satire, "Animal Farm".
