This
paper argues that the present manifestation of the Arab-Israeli
conflict is basically a conflict over
land. The paper
claims that this conflict is rooted in the strong and ancient claims of two peoples--Jews and Palestinians--to the same small piece of land in the Middle East. A history of the State of Israel is presented, including a synopsis of the wars fought. The different Israeli prime ministers and governments are discussed.
