This paper is written about the Epic of Gilgamesh. The thesis is that there are two meanings to the notion of Enkidu's domestication
in Gilgamesh. The first meaning is straightforward of Enkidu's coming out of the wilderness, lured by Shamrat "the harlot" and The second has to do with what exactly it means for Enkidu to become civilized and the deeper question of primitiveness versus civilization, the natural state versus the self-aware one.
