This
paper considers the theme of what distinguishes real
faith from imagined faith in Bernard Malamud's short story, "Angel
Levine". The main characters in the story, Manischevitz and Alexander, are examined as they relate to the theme of
faith and believing. The
paper concludes with what can be learned from the story.
