This paper looks at the emergence of F. Scott Fitzgerald as a leader in the
modernist movement of literature. It looks at
the defining characteristics of modernism and how the uniqueness and newness of Fitzgerald's style of writing put him in the forefront of
modernist writers. Fitzgerald's famous works of art and the characters within them are used to aptly illustrate Fitzgerald as one who spearheaded the modernist
movement.
