This paper shows that the theme of a
journey in the novel, "Heart of Darkness," by Joseph Conrad, implies not only the
physical
journey, but a symbolic one as well. During his
journey down the Congo River, the character, Marlow, undergoes a
physical journey that is filled with spiritual, cultural, moral, and political symbols.
