This paper explains what an exegesis is and demonstrates what is needed in order to do a proper exegesis of a passage of
scripture. In doing so, the paper names different methods of scriptural criticism and explains how they assist in the exegetical task. The paper explores Jesus' understanding of the Kingdom of God and how it related to his preaching. The question of how the Christian church today relates to the Kingdom of God is discussed. The paper delineates a proper theology of the
resurrection of the body in relationship to Jesus' death and resurrection and how that relates to the contemporary church and its mission today.
