This
paper presents an analysis of the social commentary about slavery in Mark Twain's famous story, "The Adventures of Huckleberry
Finn" and then launches into a discussion of the appropriateness of the book in the classroom. The
paper concludes that "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" should be included in the school syllabus but that teachers should be equipped and trained to handle sensitive issues that may arise as a result of reading the book.
