WISDOM – A POWERFUL WEAPON!

Article Summary by: TONY DE ORATOR

Original Author: tony de orator

Any individual in this existential experiment called life, that has not understood the disparity between wisdom
and knowledge is deeply sinking into the ocean of existential confusion. Every single person has capabilities, abilities, abilities and gifts. Living a good life depends on whether those capabilities can be used, abilities expressed and gifts given. If they are, the person will be valued, feel powerful and well-connected to the people around them. And the community around the person will be more powerful because of the contribution the person is making. But my friends, how can those capabilities, abilities and gifts be properly coordinated without wisdom? Practically impossible! Today, we strive tooth and nail to see ourselves through the four walls of university, thinking that our studious and interdisciplinary "bookishness" will give us wisdom, forgetting that knowledge is of the past while wisdom is of the future. Nowadays, we are being taught the theories and laws of past scientists and philosophers, which later produces human knowledge without any iota of wisdom – Too bad! If I may ask, what is wisdom? Is wisdom a powerful weapon? Based on my academic exposure and intellectualism, wisdom is the ability to use knowledge intelligently. Wisdom is seeing things as they are and doing them as they ought to be done. Wisdom consist of elimination of non-essential. Therefore, I make bold to state emphatically without fear or opposition, contradiction or superior mind that wisdom is a powerful throughout our life time. With wisdom we (1) win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of little children (2) earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friend. (3) appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, just to mention but few. In conclusion, great ABSU students, gray hair is no longer a sign of wisdom. Literary, any outdated piece of ideological furniture, in the name of popular saying "wisdom is for elders", must be abandoned and completely avoided. Remember – man''s level of education is independent of his level of wisdom.
