This paper examines the
work of American artist James Montgomery Flagg, and also focuses upon how the use of visual
propaganda
helped to fuel the First and Second World Wars on both sides. Interpretations of
propaganda art as noted in the
work of recognized art historians and critics is also included in the discussion.
