This paper presents the background history of
photography, in general, and the evolution of
documentary photography. Documentary
photography is described in the paper, illustrating its important role in documenting history. A biographical history of the photographer, Dorothea Lange, is provided in the paper. Some of her works are introduced and analyzed.
