This paper
examines President Truman's
decision to fire General MacArthur during the Korean War. It looks at the different
reasons why MacArthur wanted to bomb China and suggests that Truman made his
decision because he felt that MacArthur was gaining to much power. The author
examines the correctness of the decision by detailing not only what what happened when MacArthur was fired, but also looks at what was prevented from happening in the war as a result of his firing.
