This
paper reviews Caputo's "A Rumor of
War", which describes his first-hand experiences in the Vietnam battle fields. The paper explains how the Vietnam War is one of the most problematic wars to relate in a literary fashion because of the many controversies which surround it, but discusses how Caputo manages to capture the reader's attention due to the personal details of his account.
