This paper looks at three significant
events in U.S. history, namely, the arrival of the first European colonizers in the
1500s, the French and Indian War from 1754 to 1763, and the enactment of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal
policies. This paper argues that these three
events have contributed significantly to the shaping of the American way of life and continue to have a lasting impact on American social policies today.
