The late 17th and
early 18th centuries were a turbulent
period in American history, and much of how and why things turned
out the way they did in this country can be traced to this
period. This paper provides an examination of the population, economy, thought, and social patterns that characterized
early provincial America, followed by a summary of the research in the conclusion. A graphic is also provided.
