This paper examines Mircea Eliade's book, "The Sacred and the
Profane: The Nature of Religion". The intention is to examine
whether there is such a thing as a truly
profane human being (atheist). The qualities of
sacred space and sacred time in respect to human influence are addressed in order to prove that the atheist will always have some connection to the sacred.
