Death: Fear of the Unknown

Book Summary by: AcaDemon

This paper examines death as addressed by two influential philosophers, Socrates and Epicurus. These philosophers take different
approaches in viewing death and both have their own distinct reasons regarding it, however they reach the same conclusion, that death should not be feared. The paper discusses how Socrates addressees the uncertainty that follows death and how death may be even more pleasant than the life we once lived, while Epicurus addressees the non-existence of death, and illustrates how death does not affect us.
