This paper examines
evidence supporting the belief that women played major roles in early Christianity as well as pivotal
roles in
spreading Christ's message. The paper looks at
evidence of the role women played in raising money for churches and the Christian movement as well as evidence that they functioned as ordained priests. After reviewing the evidence presented, the paper then concludes that women have had and continue to have a significant role in church leadership.
