Online Diary

Website Review by: penname

I have been with Diaryland as a "Supergold" member for a little less than a year.Supergold includes a comment system, 30mb
for images, and 10,000 banner ads that other members will see randomly as they surf.My account has totally custom designed HTML, Javascripts, and graphics.
It took some time to learn enough to code it myself, but that was half the fun.The best thing about Diaryland is that your HTML works in conjunction with the very easy "update" interface to make writing new entries a snap.Just type in the window, and the text is added to your index.htm page.new feature allows you to host an individual domain name and show the content of your diaryland account. For instance, if you were http://me.diaryland.com/you could now be www.me.com It's an additional charge, but it's worth it for those of us on Diaryland that have robust sites. The way diaries become interlinked and commented allows you to meet other diarists that agree and disagree with your viewpoints, which always generates lots of interesting dialogue.By far, the biggest problem is hardware failures.Diaryland servers have been down with major problems 5 times in the last 10 months.By major, I mean for multiple days. However, on the bright side, I've never lost any data whatsoever, so obviously care is taken in backing up information. For those of us without the time or inclination to design a custom data warehouse, Diaryland takes all of the guesswork out, while still allowing creative freedom.
