HOW TO BE A CREATIVE WRITER
“The pen is mightier than the sword”. This is a very famous adage, which we must have heard,
and read a million times. But how far is it true? Well, it is very much true that what we write as well as read makes a lot of difference to our outlook towards others as well as life in general. So, to be a good and a creative writer, you need to choose your words very carefully as what you write can be perceived in many different ways.
Here are a few tips to be a good writer.
When you sit to write, make sure your mind is free of all worldly worries. It is very important for a good writer that they are relaxed. Do not force yourself to write instead motivate yourself to write.
Do your groundwork properly when you sit to write on something. Read books, newspapers, browse the net & gather as much information possible. Do not do a CUT –COPY –PASTE, as it won’t help you become a creative writer. Understand your subject properly & then let your creativity take charge. Sometimes even talking to people about topics you want to write on, helps to gain a lot of knowledge and understanding about the subject.
Discipline is one thing that is very important in every aspect of life. You need to discipline yourself even when you are writing. Writing does not mean writing anything and every thing. As I said earlier to be a good writer, you should choose your words carefully. Remember, people of all age groups will read what you write and what they read DOES influence them. It is important that while writing, you unleash your creativity, but do not unleash it up to an extent where what your writing seems to be biased and targets the sentiments of those who read it.
Once your article is ready, go through it & make sure that whatever you have written is relevant to the topic given to you and makes sense too. Make sure that the language used is not too technical nor too difficult to comprehend .Its always better that you adopt the KISS method i.e. Keep it Short and Simple though it depends on the subject you are writing.
Lastly, always try to innovate something new in your writing so that the readers can’t stop asking for more from you as a writer. Get to know the pulse of the readers and then let your creativity flow.
I hope these tips helps those who are reading this and are striving to become good and creative writers.
Write to express and not to impress
Happy Writing!!!!
