www.43things.com is a
blog site that caught my fancy a few months back when i was surfing the web to find something different. In essence it is a blog site but unlike other blogs, encourages the concept of
sharing experiences not just opinions. The basic
idea is to create a list of the 43 things you want to do. The variety the site offers is refreshing, as the "things" range from shaving one's armpits to writing a biography of one's cat! It also has a separate section of "places visited" and
group activites where people can team up to achieve a certain
goal like weight loss or just do something different they have not tried before. The best part is, you do not have to live in the same neighbourhood to partake in such group activites. Each group member can do the activity himself and share the experience with the other members. The creators of the site believe in the idea that writing something down makes the achievement of the goal a more concrete ambition. And sharing it with people serves as a motivator. And as for the eternal question. WHY 43 THINGS ? They simply provide the explanation that 43 things seems just the right amount! Not too much, not too less. Just the kind of quirky motto expected of this colourful site. The site also provides for comments to be posted on a bloggers particular entry as well as personal emails to the
blogger from the readers, through the site. I would highly recommend this site to people stuck in a rut or just looking for some adventure. My latest "thing" has been borrowed from another fellow blogger who recommends taking atleast one picture everyday of your life. Once I get used to that one I will definitely come back for more.
