ABSTRACT – INSIDE MIKE KIMERA. http://mikekimera.blogspot.com/ Erotica author blog website in which a writer currently working
in Switzerland, explores the alter-ego persona of his own pseudonym. Mike has a collection of short stories out, called Writing Naked, and the blog describes his fascination with how the book has been reviewed by fellow erotica authors. He talks of how many media reviews don’t actually involve reading the books at all. He is delighted that his fellow erotica scribes have taken the time and trouble to evaluate his work more carefully for their reviews. The title story from Writing Naked has won him the prestigious Rauxa Prize for erotic writing, which understandably delights him. He offers excellent reviews of some of his own favourite authors too, including relatively new authors worth watching out for such as Riain Grey, and established writers like Dean Koontz. Like myself he is full of praise for the Erotica Readers & Writers Association (also reviewed here by me). With strong political digs at the UK Patriot Act anti-Terrorism legislation, the site is not exclusively focused on erotica. There is a fascinating article on a return visit to London, and how the big city gives someone living in quieter towns is suddenly hit by sensory overload at the crowds, traffic, and high activity of a major metropolis. The blog is set out straightforwardly, with an easy on the eye accessibility, and a long list of archived pages that makes navigation very easy. It is a very useful site for people who want to know how a writer thinks, with references to work in progress, and reactions to how his work is being received. Mike seems taken aback by the kind of success that only comes to those with a genuine aptitude and quality in their craft, and his web pages are as worthy of a look as any of his printed work, of which there is plenty.
