Regulatory Effect of Prescriptions for Clearing Away Heat on Gene Expression of Heat Shock Proteins
To explore the regulatory effect of compound prescriptions for clearing away heat on gene
expression of
heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) in liver and lung tissues of heat shock rats. Seventy rats were
randomized into 7 groups: A (models of heat shock), B (heat shoek models treated with Baihu Decoction), C (heat
shock models treated with Huanglian Jiedu Decoction), D (endotoxin-induced models), E (endotoxin-induced models
treated with Baihu Decoction), F (endotoxin-induced models treated with Huanglian Jiedu Decoction) and G (normal
control group). mRNA expression of HSP70 in the liver and lung tissues of all the groups were detected by reverse
transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and the influence of Baihu Decoction and Huanglian Jiedu Decoction
on the expression of HSP70 were observed. The expression of HSP70 in Group A, B and C was higher than
that in Group G (P<0.05); HSP70 expression in Group B was higher than that in Group A (P <0.01 ); HSP70
expression in liver of Group B was higher than that in Group C (P <0.05 ); the differences of HSP70 expression between
Group D, E, F and Group G were insignficant(P>0.05). HSP70 expression varies in heat syndrome
induced hy various factors; Baihu Decoction and Huanglian Jiedu Decoction can increase the expression of HSP70 in liver
and lung tissues of heat shock rats and thus increase the heat tolerance of cells and prevent the cells from damaging.
