''Biographies (Birth)'' The lives and words of some literary
legends which have impacted upon me personally: Rousseau, Voltaire, Rabelais for
the French; Byron, the Shelleys, Keats, and Blake for the English. Enlightenment
and lyrical streams, postulations and poetry. This means the world to
me, and hopefully to you, too—a world of thoughts and free emotion—just imagine
it before! The Dark Ages, where empirical Reason was a heretical being to be
burnt if it didn''t fit the theological or royalist mould. I''m of the
opinion a lot of us forget, or are ignorant, of the true roots this Revolution
wrought on our society—how, if it weren''t for these figures, the common people
would still be virtual serfs to Church and State. Even though we still are, in a
way: slaves to global industrialization, political interference and
ever-increasing media manipulation. Is this the prosaic start to a
thesis that''s been waiting for a long time to come out? Some things I''ve been
holding in my head and heart for too long, it seems. To be continued
