2008''s presidential race is heating up and the contestants are boasting their stuff and trying their best to win over people''s
hearts and votes. How much do you really know about the candidates though? How about Hilary Clinton? Will she best represent our country, or will one of the many other candidates win over the American people?
Hilary Clinton, wife of Bill Clinton, was brought into this world on October 26, 1947 in Illinois. Here she developed into quite the admirable daughter winning awards in high school and on her sports teams. As she evolved into a young lady, her political genius kicked into over-drive and thus volunteered for Barry Goldwater, a republican candidate in the election of 1964 for the presidency spot.
She went on to college at Wellesley and served as a leader of the Wellesley College Chapter of the College Republicans. After her junior year Hilary made plans to become part of the democratic committee. Hilary entered law school where she participated in many activities including working at the legal services of the city to ensure advice for the poor. During the year of 1970, Ms. Clinton was awarded with working at the Children''s Defense Fund located in Massachusetts. Soon after she ventured to Washington D.C. She associated with Senator Walter Mondale''s committee on migrant workers, where she was researching migrant conflicts in sanitation, health and education, as well as housing.
After her graduate studies, Hilary officiated as attorney of the staff for the Children''s Defense Fund, and in addition, as a consultant to the Carnegie Council on Children. Plus she was previously a portion of the impeachment staff enlightening the House Committee on the Judiciary during the period of the Watergate slander. Later in life, Hilary Clinton became one of only two present female members of the faculty at the University of Arkansas, located near the Fayetteville School of Law.
After her union with Bill Clinton, Hilary became the First Lady of Arkansas, in which she held that name for over twelve years. Among those twelve years, she had serviced her time for the Arkansas Educational Standards Committee, and the Rural Health Advisory Committee. For these wonderful achievements she was titled the state of Arkansas''s Woman of the Year Award in the year of 1983.
After receiving her fifteen minutes of fame, Hilary Clinton headed the National Health Care Reform bill that was a theoretical offer to behest employers to give health coverage plans to their employees from individual health organizations. Resulting from Bill Clinton''s win of the Presidential election, Hilary was now the First Lady of the United States of America. As such, she upheld children''s prosperity and women''s rights around the globe. As she continued her contributions to society, she promoted immunization vaccines to fight childhood diseases.
With the help of advisors Hilary engineered the Office on Violence against Women. To help her success with this program, she was one of the most-heard national women to let her concerns be heard about the condition of women by the Islamist fundamentalist Taliban.
Hilary soon after was nominated for the senate seat in the year 2000. During her campaign, she traveled all over New York, encouraging reforms on the economic conditions and promoting new jobs for the unemployed. This platform helped her to win the election on in January of 2001.
As most of you now know, Hilary Clinton is running for President in 2008. She is the first woman to be nominated, and therefore run for the win. Hilary has voiced her opinion in many aspects of the race and this leaves people''s minds open to a woman president. Hilary said yes to reduce the rates of teenage pregnancy. She plans on achieving this goal with the help of contraceptives and educating our young people. However, she did vote to continue the research on stem cells for embryonic use. On the economy''s standpoint, Hilary voted tertain budget and work on paying down debt issues. She also wants to instigate upstate economy by ways of more provincial decision-making.
Clinton wants to clamp down on sex trafficking of the female population. She said yes to adding sexual orientation to programs of hate crimes, along with confining rules on bankruptcy. Among the most important issues facing our world today, Hilary has wisely voted to minimize air pollution with the goal to improve children''s health with enchanting in world affairs, plus and human rights. In association with these vows, she voted yes on forbidding campaign donations from unions and corporations.
Whether you agree with Hilary Clinton and her views or not, she is a presidential candidate and is keeping up with the other candidates in amazing fashion. She might just become the first female President of the United States.
