This paper looks at how the disabled have been discriminated against in the U.S., past public policy that enforced this
discrimination,
and recent changes to legislation and policy that are designed to eliminate
discrimination and protect the rights of individuals with
disabilities. Finally, the paper presents both the arguments in favor of disability policies and laws, as well as the arguments, opposed to disability policies and laws.
