This paper explains that, in
terms of an assessment of the historical significance of Marx from today's perspective, it appears
that many of his
ideas were not practical in
terms of being put into practise. The author points out that the elimination of private property leads to economic mismanagement and political totalitarianism. The paper concludes that Marx's ideas crystallized many of the injustices of capitalism.
