     what are HIV and AIDS ?                                  HIV

is the virus that causes AIDS. AIDS reduces the body 's
       ability to fight other diseases. People with HIV/AIDS get sick very easily with
       certain diseases, such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and diarrhea.Most people
      with AIDS die from diseases that their bodies no longer can fight.
    HOW is HIV carried and spread;
                                HIV is carried in body fluids. The most important are:
                                            *semen
                                            *blood
                                            *vaginal fluid
    HIV can be spread through;
                                           *vaginal sexual intercourse
                                            *anal intercourse
                                            *sharing intravenous needles with an infected person
                                            *transfusion of infected blood
    How can HIV/AIDS be prevented;
                                             *abstain from sex
                                             *consistently use condoms
                                      ;     *do not use a hypodermic needle that has not
                                               been sterlized or soaked in bleach
