AIM To study the effect of
salidroside on
content of interleukin-1 beta IL-1β of rats with global cerebral
ischemia-reperfusion
injury so as to investigate its protection on global cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. METHODS The experiment was completed in the Central Laboratory of Medical College of Chinese People's Armed Police Forces from April 2004 to May 2005. ① Totally 24 healthy adult male Wistar rats were were randomly divided into three group salidroside group
model group and sham operation group with 8 in each group. Salidroside group Rats were perfused with 36 mg/kg·d salidroside provide by Biological Separation Laboratory National Key Laboratory of Bioreactor of North China University of Technology batch number 20040112 purity >95%. Rats in model group and sham operation group were perfused with the same volume of distilled water. After 7 days acute injury models with 30-minute ischemia and 60-minute reperfusion were blocked with modified Pulsinelli-4 vessel occlusion. Rats were killed to obtain their brains after successful modeling. ② IL-1β content was assayed with enzyme-linked immunoadsordent assay ELISA. ③ Measurement data were compared with LSD analysis of variance. RESULTS Totally 24 rats entered the final analysis. IL-1β content in homogenate liquid Content in model group was higher that that in sham operation group and salidroside group 85.00±24.05 43.90±22.67 45.1±17.02 ng/g P < 0.01. There was not significant difference between salidroside group and sham operation group P > 0.05. CONCLUSION Salidroside can inhibit increase of IL-1β expression induced by ischemia-reperfusion injury and also can protect brain of rats induced by ischemia-reperfusion injury.
