? Objective:The test of
teratogenicity of polyoxometalate
α K 8H 2〔SiW 9Ti 3O 40 〕·15H 2O (α Ti 3) was used to detect the growing index and abnormality of fetus in Wistar rats. Methods:From 7 to 16 days after certification, female Wistar rats were administrated orally α Ti 3 with doses of 57.09,171.28, 513.83 mg/kg ;meanwhile, distilled water and Vit A were used for the negative and positive control
groups respectively .Results:No abnormalities in appearance, viscus and bones of fetus were observed in all three dose groups.Compared with the negative control group, the rates of live fetus increased but the number of absorbed fetus decreased in the group of 57.09,513.83 mg/kg ( P <0 05).There were significant increases of body weight, body height and tail length of fetus in the groups of 57.09,171.28,513.83 mg/kg;compared with the negative control group ( P <0 05,0.01,0.01 and P <0 05,0.01,0.01),which was markedly associated with dose levels ( r =0.8408,0.7228 and P <0 005,0.05 respectively).Analysis of ossification grade of upper occipital and the number of fetal sternum showed that ossification in fetus of all three dose groups was higher than that of the negative control group ( P <0 05,0.01,0.01).Marked decreases of hepatic weight and hepatic body ratios of pregnant rats were observed in the groups of 57.09,171.28 and 513.83 mg/kg,compared with the negative control group ( P <0 05,0.05,0.01 and P <0 05,0.05,respectively).Conclusion:There were no abnormalities but increases of growing indexes and higher ossification of fetus in the teratogenicity test of α Ti 3. 〔
