Objective To study the effect of Digan oral liquid (DGOL) on expression of cell cycle prog ression( cyclinD-1)- and apoptosis(bcl-2 and bax)- related genes in bone marr ow of mice with radiation lesions. Methods After the radiation lesion model(given 6 0 Gy X-rays on ce by a linear accelerator) was established,the animals were fed with 0 2 ml/10 g of either small dose (100%) or large dose (200%) DGOL twice a day for 8 days. On the ninth day cyclinD-1,bcl-2 and bax mRNA expression levels in marrow MNC of model mice were measured by in situ hybridization. Results In the DGOL group,the bax mRNA expression was significantly decreased (P<0 01),but cyclinD-1 and bcl-2 mRNA were significantly increased (P<0 01) t han those in the control group. Conclusion DGOL can restrain radiation lesion due to its enhancing effects on cyclinD-1 an d bcl-2 mRNA expression,and inhibitory effect on bax mRNA expression.In this wa y,it prevents the blood cells from injury,promotes immunity,and protects the org anism.This result provides a theoretical basis for clinical application of Diga noral Liquid.;
