This paper provides an overview of the different types of
emergency contraceptives such as the "morning-after pill" and Copper-T
Intrauterine Device (IUD). It looks at how offering the
emergency contraceptive pills for sale over the counter is a very controversial
issue and how the on-going debate on whether to allow their open sale remains a tough issue.
