USI to Introduce New Initiatives for Sustainable Development
Environmental protection experts from Chengdu and US held
a meeting on Monday to discuss on new initiatives for waste treatment, pollution control and urban river rehabilitation programs in Chengdu.

Sustainability Initiative (USI) by the University of California at Berkeley and Chengdu Urban Rivers Association (CURA), experts from the University of California at Berkeley and local institutes called for organizations, non-academic partners and the public to get involved in the efforts for the
environmental protection and sustainable development in Chengdu.
USI is an umbrella, with many activities under, said Dara Nelson, assistant professor of department of civil & environmental engineering of the University of California at Berkeley and head of USI program in Chengdu.
