Two of America‘s
heavyweight
writers, John Irving and Stephen King, begged
J. K. Rowling not to kill off Harry
Potter in the final
book of the
series, a Reuters report says.
The three
writers attended a joint news conference
before a charity reading in New York. Irving, the author of
"The World According to Garp," said, "My fingers are
crossed for Harry."
Horror writer King said he had confidence Rowling would
be "fair" to her hero.
Meanwhile, Rowling admits some fans will hate what
happens in the seventh book of the series. She added she
didn‘t enjoy killing characters at the end of her books.
In June on British TV, Rowling revealed two of the
major characters would die in the final book, triggering
speculation and alarm Potter, the boy wizard, could be
doomed..
