Five-year weather
forecasting construction plan The Chengdu Municipal Government lately promulgated measures on speeding
up development of weather
forecasting in the future five years. This is the first comprehensive
meteorological initiative taken among the nation’s sub-provincial capital cities. In five years’ time, weather forecasting will be precise to fixed time and place instead of the present general forecasting in a large area. Four hundred mobile meteorological spots will be set up and a weather surveillance system established to better forecast disastrous weather and make sure effective and in-time disaster relief measures will be taken.
