Life in Dubai
The Movie portrays the lives and loves of
overseas Filipino
workers in the emirate.
More than
8 million Filipinos work
overseas. Sometimes their real-life stories are of rags to riches. But more often than not, many expats tell a story of hardship and strife. In the movie Anak, Vilma Santos and Claudine Baretto acted out the hardships and sacrifices of a mother working as a domestic helper in Hong Kong. In Milan, what began as a quest to find a lost wife, ended up in finding a new love in the streets and vineyards of Italy . Now, the latest movie to highlight the lives of overseas Filipino
workers is Dubai: The Movie.
Orphans Raffy ( Aga Muhlach) and Andrew (John Lloyd Cruz) have only each other to depend on. Raffy being the elder brother dreams of providing a better future for both of them. He has spent the last nine years of his life working in a courier service company in Dubai , so that he can save enough money to eventually migrate to Canada with his brother. His work keeps him in close contact with other Filipino overseas workers and has made him popular in the Filipino community.
The story takes a twist when Andrew lands in Dubai and meets Faye ( Baretto), one of Raffy’s many girlfriends.

When Andrew finds out, the brothers battle bitterly over their lady love. In the end, what they choose and achieve are not as planned. But their experiences lead to new beginnings in their lives.
