This paper points out that despite the centrality of sexuality within modern life, the scriptural responses to same-sex are
relatively few. The paper discusses that misinterpreting Paul is not only heterosexism but also
homophobia. This paper states that homophobia can lead to poor historical
scholarship and a lack of concern for putting words into their ancient, rather than modern context.
