This paper, through a review of Anne Moody's book "Coming of Age in Mississippi" gives an account of Moody's
life as the
daughter of
sharecroppers and describes how, at a very early age, Moody was determined to escape the
life of poverty and hopelessness that her parents suffered as sharecroppers.
