The Great Depression of the 1930s

Book Summary by: AcaDemon

This paper stresses that the Great Depression, which is the "defining event" in the world during the 1930s, hit immigrants
and the common man extremely hard; but African-Americans and other minorities, such as Mexicans, were affected even more than any white people in any part of the world. The author points out that, during the Great Depression, the American Dream was shattered beyond recognition. The paper relates that the Great Depression of the 1930s had a widespread impact on the economy of Nigeria and other African countries because the falling world markets caused the British trade amalgamations to lower extremely their prices for commodities from these areas.
